Opportunity Giving

Opportunity Giving is the way that Presbyterian Women respond to current needs within the church and throughout the community. Grant Requests are solicited at least once per year, depending on the results of our two Rummage Sale and the extent of other mission obligations. The finance committee, in conjunction with the Presbyterian Women Coordinating Team, determines how much money is available, publicizes and provides for distribution of the Opportunity Giving Grant Request form, meets, and determines appropriate distribution of funding according to the stated purpose of Presbyterian Women (see below).

Requests for funding should have a clearly defined purpose and should indicate changes, either long or short term, which may take place because of the funding.  Funds may provide direct aid to persons in need or to projects judged to be of importance.  If applicable, please identify ways funding will improve conditions of clients.

This year, Opportunity Giving Grant Requests are due by October 11, 2009.  They may be sent to the church at the address on the form or emailed to Lois Poston (ieposton [at] juno [dot] com).

An Opportunity Giving Grant Request form is linked below.
