Project Day

Mission is important to the members of Presbyterian Women. Project Day is a monthly hands-on mission of Presbyterian Women, begun at a time when women could spend one morning a month sewing ... knitting, organizing, creating ... things to be sent directly to missionaries in far away places. At one time, Calvin Hall was a beehive of activity: sewing machines, tables covered with fabric, women in conversation as they worked. But times have changed. Much needs to be purchased now - the needs of mission hospitals and agencies are more specific, and fewer women have the the time to spend.

But the work continues. Our quota for 2008 is shown here.

Now, Project Day is led by Louise Kutscher. We meet in Calvin Hall, usually the first Wednesday of the month in the morning.

There are many items that are always needed - knitted baby caps and booties, afgans, etc., as well as purchased clothing and personal supplies. Here are two simple patterns: one for a baby cap, another for simple booties.
