Alternative Christmas Bazaar

Sunday November 13, 2011 from 9AM to 2PM

For over 20 years Presbyterian Women have sponsored an annual Alternative Christmas Bazaar where 100% of the proceeds benefit local and global non-profit organizations.  As an "alternative" to the frenzy and commercialism of mall shopping you won't find clothing manufactured in sweat shops, plastic toys in need of batteries, or pricey "i-things".  Instead, you can purchase fair trade items such as handcrafts, jewelry,  and coffee with the assurance that the artist or farmer has received a fair wage for the product.  There will also be opportunities to donate gifts of livestock, immunizations, or clean water to communities in developing countries in the name of that special hard- to- buy- for someone on your gift list.  Many small gift items that children can purchase for parents, grandparents and teachers will be available, so plan to make this a family event.

This year's bazaar will be held on Sunday November 13 from 9AM to 2PM.  Come enjoy coffee, Christmas cookies and music while you meet, greet, and shop.  Your purchase of gifts that keep on giving will make a difference in the lives of our local and world neighbors.

The event will be co-chaired by Liz Snyder, Diane Bert, and Sheila Roebke.  Please feel free to contact any of the three if you wish to help staff a table, have your organization represented, or donate a batch of your favorite Christmas cookies.
