Advent by Candlelight


Ladies and girls of all ages are invited to participate in Advent by Candlelight on Thursday evening, December 3, 2009.  Plan to join us for this special service of music and meditations to celebrate the Advent season and prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of the Christ Child and the return of our Lord. 

Plans for the Evening

6:00 p.m. Welcome, light refreshments
6:30 pm. Worship
7:00 p.m. Sharing the Light - Viewing Candlelit Tables
7:30 p.m. Dessert and Fellowship


We will gather as a community for a light refreshments beginning at 6 pm in the Narthex (the front of the church, back of the sanctuary). Worship begins at 6:30 pm. Following our worship service, we will have some time to greet friends and view the candlelit tables. Dessert begins at 7:30 pm and will conclude around 8:30 pm. 

 

We have space for about 400 guests, so reservations for dessert are necessary. Worship is open to all.


UPDATE!

Advent by Candlelight is one of the ways that women share in mission. This year's Advent by Candlelight offering generated over $1,400 in gift cards to Kroger, Target, Wal-mart, and Meijer to be given to the following local agencies and need-response organizations:

Baldwin Center in Pontiac
Alcott School
Detroit Hunger Coalition
Deacons Food Pantry
A Place of Refuge - Detroit Presbytery
